Family Festivals

Festival season is about to hit and there are a ton of fantastic, family-friendly options available across the UK for you to choose from, no matter how old your little ones may be.  We’ve selected a few of our favourites.

Geronimo

Geronimo festival is all about quality family time and imaginative play with the aim for the weekend to encourage play, learning and magical memory making. Aimed at those with children under 13,
Geronimo has an impressive kids’ field enabling families to enjoy what they describe as a ‘fairytale existence’.

With a line up including Cbeebies favourites such as Justin Fletcher and Mr Bloom, plus performances from young dancers and actors and even activities such as donkey rides, sensory play, children’s yoga, little scrummers introduction to rugby, a messy play area and animals to pet – there is something for every child to enjoy. In fact there’s even a spa with an on-site crèche facility if you need a little rejuvenation.

On at Arley Hall, Cheshire on the spring bank holiday and Knebworth House, Stevenage 30 th June-1 st July, there are a range of different ticket options available and under 2’s go free.

Shrewsbury Folk Festival

Over the August bank holiday (26 th -29 th August) the Shrewsbury Folk Festival will take place in the Gravelhill area with the theme of ‘Pandemonium – bees and the environment’.

With music, a range of dance, drama, story-telling and crafting for children up to age 11, there’s lots to do for the little ones, in fact there’s even a teen area, Refolkus for those aged 11+, with dance workshops, music and singing for those too cool to hang out with their parents or families.

With a stellar line-up of famous folk bands and artists such as The Wilson FamilyThe Fitzgeralds and Rusty Shackle to name a few, Shrewsbury Folk Festival ticks the boxes for music-loving families across the UK and there are a variety of day or weekend camping ticket options available.

Green Man Festival

Located in the beautiful Brecon Beacons from the 16 th to the 19 th August, Green Man Festival has been going since 2003 and attracts a broad variety of attendees, ranging from

adventurous activities, crafting workshops, magic and bubbles to keep the little ones entertained.

Meanwhile for the grown-ups there everything from musical, comedy and literature performances to the Nature Nurture section for some mindful relaxation with yoga sessions and a range of rejuvenating treatments and massages available.

The Green Man Festival has adult festival tickets (with camping) from £180 and children from £20 but they also have the Settler’s Pass – a unique opportunity to have a full week’s holiday in the campsite, including the festival from £225 per adult.

Shambala

Taking place over the August bank holiday weekend 23 rd -26 th , in Northamptonshire, Shambala is a huge celebration of music, cabaret, comedy, inspirational talks, acrobatics, theatre and poetry with more than 200 musical acts performing over 12 live stages.

Whilst the entire festival is family friendly, Shambala has a specially designated Playtopia kid’s area with sandpits, golf, crafting workshops and the famous ‘Woodland Tribe’ where the children are invited to roam free before ending the day with cocoa and a bedtime story in the Family Yurt.

With action packed activities (hula hooping, biking, trampolining, fairground rides), crafting (building badges, making monsters drawing dragons) to enjoying the free face painting, puppet tent and toddler play area, there’s plenty to keep your family entertained.

There are a range of different Shambala tickets available and it’s free for under 5’s.
